Scheduled Notifications for Issues and Action Plans via the Notification Scheduler

As a user of the 3rdRisk platform,
I want the ability to schedule notifications related to Issues and Action Plans through the platform’s notification scheduler (currently developed for IC bulk assessments),
so that I can receive updates at a time and frequency that best fits my workflow and priorities.

Background

While the platform provides real-time alerts, many users prefer to receive updates at specific moments—either to align with internal routines or to avoid distraction. The existing notification scheduler supports IC (bulk) assessments, but currently does not include Issues and Action Plans.

The Story

Extend the notification scheduler to allow users to configure when and how often they receive notifications about:

  • New or updated Issues

  • Due dates approaching or missed

  • Status changes in Action Plans (e.g. started, completed, overdue)

Users will be able to:

  • Choose frequency: daily, weekly, or custom intervals

  • Set preferred days and times for delivery

  • Filter by severity, category, owner, or status

  • Decide delivery channel: Teams, email, or both

Benefits

  • Gives users greater control over how they manage risk-related communications

  • Supports better planning and prioritisation, especially for team leads and compliance officers

  • Reduces unnecessary alerts while ensuring nothing falls through the cracks

  • Promotes a rhythm of review and accountability

Optional Enhancements

  • Default scheduling templates (e.g. "Weekly Compliance Digest", "Daily Operations Update")

  • Role-based suggestions for notification setup (e.g. CISO vs. Risk Owner)
