As a user of the 3rdRisk platform,
I want to receive a single summarised Teams notification once or twice per week,
so that I stay informed about relevant issues and action plans without being interrupted by frequent alerts.
Currently, users receive real-time Teams notifications for each individual update related to issues and action plans. While this ensures immediacy, it can quickly lead to notification fatigue—especially for users who are involved in multiple risk domains or manage large numbers of suppliers.
Instead of triggering separate notifications for each update, the platform will consolidate all relevant changes—such as newly raised issues, status changes, due date reminders, or updates on action plans—into a single digest. This summary will be pushed to Microsoft Teams either once or twice per week (configurable), depending on user preference or organisation-wide settings.
The notification will include:
A clear subject line (e.g. "Weekly Risk Update: Issues & Actions Summary")
A breakdown of:
New or escalated issues
Upcoming or overdue action plans
Status changes or completions
Direct links to view details in 3rdRisk
Reduces noise while keeping users informed
Improves focus by minimising interruptions
Encourages periodic review of open risks and responsibilities
Aligns with a more strategic and less reactive risk management approach
Users can opt into daily, weekly, or bi-weekly summaries via notification preferences
Team-level settings to determine cadence and scope (e.g. only show high-priority items)
